The proposed Centre of excellence is a part of the IoE-CoE. The centre of excellence spans from experimental systems to computational works. The planned activities consider the applications of Lasers in Laser Shot Peening, High aspect ratio, laser-assisted brazing, laser-assisted cutting, laser-assisted grinding wheel dressing and pulsed laser deposition


The proposed centre of excellence for Advanced Laser Material Processing deals with exploring the potentials of Lasers in the fields of Nano-structuring, Nano-texturing, Micromachining, Micro-grinding, Joining, Peening, Beam shaping, 3D figuring, alchemy and Pulsed Laser Deposition. The centre is equipped with state of the art facilities including Femtosecond Laser, Galvo-scanner, micro-grinding setup, Micro-Raman Spectroscopy and the subject experts for various fields spanning from Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Engineering Design and Physics, . The centre also pledges to bridge the gap between the industry and academia.
